World Retail Congress Overview

The World Retail Congress, meeting in Berlin, its new location for 2010, will provide the critical context, new ideas and challenging thinking for senior retailers to understand the “new retailing” that is about to emerge from the global recession. Following extensive consultation with the Congress’s Advisory Board and retailers around the world, the programme will address the essential issues pre-occupying retail boardroom agendas with incisive keynote sessions through to in-depth discussions in the focussed business streams. A full programme of thought-leadership studies designed to provide greater insight for retailers have been commissioned and will form centre-piece presentations at the Congress. For 2010, the highly acclaimed Retail Futures Challenge will be expanded with more retail colleges from around the world sending their brightest and best retail students to Berlin and for Congress delegates to select the winning team.

And new to the programme for 2010 will be executive roundtables: smaller workshop formats that will allow delegates to experience first-hand the very latest online, digital and social networking channels soon to be adopted by consumers.

Over the next few weeks, some of the most significant names from the global retail industry will be announced as keynote speakers, presenters and panellists.

Taking place in the heart of Berlin, one of Europe’s most dynamic and important capital cities, delegates will also be able to enjoy retail study tours as well as receptions and the Gala Dinner key networking events that will be held in the heart of the city.

It promises to be one of the most important gatherings of the world’s best retailers at a truly important time for the industry.
