2009 Media Review

The World Retail Congress continues to attract significant press attention from across the Globe with more than 60 journalists from 13 different countries attending this year, including film crews from the Catalunya News Channel and Bloomberg.

Over 400 articles from trade, local, and national publications around the world have been tracked with coverage in over 180 publications.

Coverage tracked in 22 different countries / territories, including: Australia, Brazil, China, Columbia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.

Approximately 30 press releases were issued in relation to the World Retail Congress throughout the campaign (including regional variations as necessary), with a further 25 releases being issued during the Congress itself.

The Retail Futures Challenge formed an exciting new part of the Congress programme. Despite it being the launch year for the competition, media interest was high, and highlights of the associated coverage included a 6 minute slot on BBC Breakfast News in the UK.
