M&S CHAIRMAN SIR STUART ROSE SET TO SPEAK AT WORLD RETAIL CONGRESS - 85 top retail industry figures already confirmed to speak -
In one of his last speaking engagements as Chairman of iconic retail giant M&S, organisers today announced that Sir Stuart Rose is set to address this year’s annual gathering of the global retail industry, the World Retail Congress.
Rose is one of 85 retail luminaries confirmed to speak at the Congress, which will meet from 25 to 27 October and will be hosted in Berlin for the first time.
Also among those confirmed to address the three day industry meeting are Michael Gould, Chairman & CEO, Bloomingdale’s; Heinz Krogner, Chairman, Esprit; Mindy Grossman, CEO, HSN, Inc; Bijou Kurien, President, Reliance Lifestyle and Lev Khasis, CEO, X5.
Having postponed the Congress earlier this year due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption and resulting travel chaos, organisers expect the October programme to be even stronger, with many new additions.
A new date was likewise announced for the Oracle World Retail Awards and Gala Dinner, which will take place during the Congress at The German Historic Museum on the evening of 26 October. The exclusive World Retail Hall of Fame will equally be held at the Berlin Ritz Carlton on the evening of 25 October, with The Study Tour bringing the 2010 Congress to a close on the afternoon of 28 October.
The only truly international meeting of the global retail industry, the World Retail Congress draws together leading figures from across the sector to resolve crucial global issues. Scheduled to meet at the InterContinental Hotel, Berlin, the Congress is organised by Emap Communications, in association with key sponsors, Deloitte, MasterCard and Oracle.
