CEO Myer Bernie has 30 years' experience in retailing, the majority of which have been with Australia’s largest retailer, Woolworths where he acquired significant experience in senior retail management including significant international experience. The senior roles he held included Retail Operations Manager, General Manager Woolworths Queensland and Chief General Manager, Buying and Marketing for Woolworths Supermarkets. In September 2005 he was appointed Director of Marketing. In March 2006 Bernie Brookes was appointed the new chief executive of Myer, the Australian 106-year-old department store chain with a turnover of $3.3 bn. |
