The World Retail Congress programme seeks to not only reflect but to also lead the senior retail agenda. This has never been more important than it is today as the industry undergoes enormous transformation. Our retail leaders asked us to see the latest fresh ideas in their sector and we responded by creating the Innovation Lab and Pitch-off.
Last year’s inaugural session welcomed international start-ups to compete in a three minute pitch session to global retail leaders. After the success of last year’s display of creativity and insight, the Congress Innovation Lab and Pitch-off will feature for the second time.
Basic criteria for Start-ups participating in Innovation Lab/Pitch-off:
- Should be a retail technology start up idea or a new solution for retail designed to help retail businesses – it is not aimed at start-up retail concepts
- The solution can be relevant or aimed at any part of the retail business: in-store, online, supply chain, buying, marketing, data analytics etc
- The start-up should have achieved at least first-round funding
