Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Required

To attend the World Retail Congress, all attendees must present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 within the last 180 days (6 months). Attendees can show a digital certification (eg, EU Super Green Pass, NHS Covid Pass, or equivalent for your geographical region) or a printed certification or a covid card or a simple QR code.

FFP2 masks will be required to be worn during the World Retail Congress.  We will have a stock of masks available at the registration desks.

Delegates MUST show proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon collection of their badge at the World Retail Congress registration desks. We are unable to issue badges or provide access to any delegates who are unable to provide a COVID-19 vaccine certificate which is valid in Italy.

How do I obtain an EU Digital COVID Certificate?

Which vaccines administered abroad are valid in Italy?

Vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and which are currently valid for obtaining the  COVID-19 Green Certification in Italy : Comirnaty ( Pfizer-BioNtech), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca), Janssen ( Johnson & Johnson), Nuvaxovid (Novavax).

Which non-EU countries are included in the EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC)?

So far, 33 non EU countries (and territories) joined the EUDCC system, which means that the COVID certificates issued in those 33 countries are accepted in the EU under the same conditions as the EUDCC.  

Currently, this includes: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Cabo Verde, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Panama, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man), Uruguay, The Vatican.

I’m not from the EU.  Which vaccination certificates are accepted?

Vaccination certificates issued by the competent national health authorities abroad, following vaccination with vaccines authorized by EMA or equivalent vaccines, are considered as equivalent to the Italian COVID green certification. 

The certifications must contain at least the following:

  • identification data of the owner (name, surname, date of birth);

  • data relating to the vaccine (name and lot);

  • date (s) of vaccine administration; and

  • identification data of who issued the certificate (state, health authority).

Vaccination certificates, in paper and / or digital format, must be drawn up in at least one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, or Spanish . If the certificate was not issued in one of the five languages ​​indicated, it must be accompanied by a sworn translation.

The validity of vaccination certificates is the same as for the COVID-19 green certification issued by the Italian State.

Will you offer COVID-19 testing for attendees?

No, we will not be offering Covid-19 testing, however, if you would like to arrange for Covid-19 testing, please contact romhi.concierge@waldorfastoria.com who will be able to assist you in your arrangements.

Can I provide a negative COVID-19 test if I am not vaccinated?

We require all delegates to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend World Retail Congress.  A negative test on its own will not be acceptable.

Will you accept proof of antibodies (recent COVID-19 infection) in place of vaccination?

Italian regulations will not accept proof of antibodies or recent recovery from COVID-19.

Will you make any exceptions to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy?

No, Italian regulations will not make any exceptions to the Covid-19 Policy outlined above

Will World Retail Congress staff be vaccinated?

We will be requiring all our staff to show proof of full vaccination with an approved health pass.

What happens if I forgot my proof of vaccination and I am already in Rome? Can I provide a negative COVID-19 test? 

A negative test on it’s own will not be acceptable.  Only individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to participate in-person.

Will I need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend the WRC London Summit?

No, it is not mandatory that you need to be vaccinated, but in line with the event industry association and advise from the UK and local government, you will be required to present your NHS COVID Pass on entry in order to gain access to the event and to help us to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

The NHS COVID Pass can be obtained if one of the following applies:

  • Proof of completion of a full course of vaccination two weeks prior to arrival.
    OR
  • Proof of a Negative Lateral Flow Test result, taken within 48hrs of arrival.
    OR
  • Proof of natural immunity shown by a positive PCR test result for COVID-19, lasting for 180 days from the date of the positive test and following completion of the self-isolation period.

You can create and present your NHS COVID Pass via the NHS App (including a downloadable pdf), on the NHS website or as a paper letter, which can be requested through the NHS website or by ringing 119.

How can I get a PCR Test to obtain a COVID-19 pass?

You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site. Both can be done here.

How can I get a lateral flow test to obtain the NHS COVID-19 pass?

Lateral Flow test kits can be ordered online through the Government website or purchased from a pharmacy.

You can also find your local LFT testing centre online.

My age group hasn’t been offered the vaccine yet

We understand that not everyone has had the opportunity to receive a vaccine yet so you will need to be tested (within 48hrs of entry) and show proof of the negative result on arrival.

You will need to upload the results of your test online via the NHS Covid Pass App to validate your pass (or via the Government Website for international ticket holders)

I am travelling from Europe, will you accept EU Digital COVID certification?

Yes, EU Digital COVID Certificates will be accepted. You can also present a negative test via text message.

Use the Government Website to register your result. You should use your accommodation/place of residence as the postcode for registering your result.

I am travelling from outside of Europe, what shall I do?

You will need to take an LFT test 36  hrs before arriving. You will upload your test result via the UK Government website, who will follow-up with a confirmation text message which you must display on entry.

Alternatively, you can find your local testing centre, and show the text message confirming your test result.

I’m travelling from an Amber country and need to book a day 2 testing kit, can you arrange that on my behalf?

No, we are not able to pre-book covid tests on your behalf, but we can recommend using DocTap to book your tests.

I’m from UK territories, but do not have access to the NHS COVID-19 pass?

Will I have to wear a mask?

It will not be required to wear a face covering or practice social distancing while attending the event, however we advise visitors to be responsible, and wear a mask in busy areas or where they feel appropriate or comfortable.
