Kelly Gallagher is a Global Trend Analyst and Market Strategist for the Corporate Strategy Department in Shiseido Company Limited and member of the Japanese Beauty Institute. Her roles focus on researching the impact of macro drivers on consumer mindsets in order to forecast opportunities, especially in emerging markets, and applying a Western perspective to globalize Japanese Beauty.
With a MA in Innovation Management from Central Saint Martins, UK and 10 years experience in the fashion retail and beauty industries spanning USA, UK and Japan, Kelly utilizes Design Thinking strategies and takes an empathetic, human-first approach in the evaluation of consumer values and needs—but consumers are not the only human’s in the retail equation. She believes there is a huge opportunity to innovate the Sales Associate role, especially in a time where digital and virtual technologies are in the spotlight advancing almost daily. To her, the role is the greatest and underused asset in the current brick and mortar retail landscape.
