Nicolas Houzé

CEO, Galeries Lafayette

Nicolas Houzé is a member of the Executive Board of the Galeries Lafayette group and CEO of Galeries Lafayette. He also holds the position of Vice President of Motier.

He started his career at A.T. Kearney and Deutsche Bank, before joining Monoprix in 1998, where he held various positions, and notably launched “Monop’” (a successful convenience store concept) in 2003.

After having spent a year between Fontainebleau and Singapore for INSEAD in 2006, he was appointed as Chairman of Louis Pion - Royal Quartz, the watch division of the Galeries Lafayette group.

Between 2011 and 2013, Nicolas Houzé held the position of Deputy CEO of the Group’s department store division, which includes the Galeries Lafayette and BHV MARAIS networks at this time.

Nicolas Houzé has been Chief Executive Officer of Galeries Lafayette since 2013. Between 2016 and 2019, Nicolas Houzé has been recognized as one of the 500 most influential personalities in fashion according to Business of Fashion’s annual ranking.

He is currently an independent member of the M6 Supervisory Board, a member of the MEDEF (Mouvement des Entreprises de France) Executive Council, the IADS (International Association of Department Stores) Executive Committee and the Alliance du Commerce and Union du Grand Commerce de Centre-Ville (UCV) Steering Committees.

On November 15, 2023, Nicolas Houzé was appointed Chairman of the Comité Stratégique de Filière (CSF) Mode et Luxe (Strategic committee for the fashion and luxury industry).

Aged 48, Nicolas Houzé is passionate about skiing, golf and tennis. He is also passionate about contemporary art.
