Ian McLeod
lan McLeod has over 20 years of CEO experience leading multi-billion dollar businesses with various ownership profiles including privately held, publicly traded and private equity controlled; the latter working with private equity firms at different times in three different continents.
With over 40 years in leadership positions across various retail sectors and markets, including the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, North Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and the United States, Ian has a unique breadth of specialist expertise in building and leading business turnaround and change management programs globally.
lan’s leadership and board experience includes UK brands such as Asda and Halfords, international brands such as Walmart in Europe and Carrefour in the Middle East, as well as CEO roles with Coles Retail Group in Australia, Southeastern Grocers in the United States and also the DFI Retail Group based in Hong Kong with stores across 13 Asian markets, including key franchise brands such as IKEA, 7-Eleven and Starbucks.
Outside of Retail , Ian is a former CEO of Celtic FC , A professional football club in Scotland , a director of Fulham FC in the English Premier League and also a director of Melbourne Victory FC and Vice President of St Kilda Australian Rule FC, both in Australia
He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Kingfisher PLC in the UK, an Operating Partner for Quadria Capital Private Equity in Singapore and a Senior Advisor with the Alvarez and Marsal Management Consultancy in the United States.
Academically , Ian was a participant in Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, was awarded in 2010 an Honorary Doctorate in his native Scotland for his contributions to business and retail and more recently a guest lecturer at INSEAD International Business School
