Karsten Wildberger

Federal Minister for Digitalization and Government Modernization , The Federal Government of Germany

Karsten Wildberger has been serving as Germany’s first Federal Minister for Digitalization and Government Modernization since May 2025. 

Born in 1969 in Gießen, Germany, he holds a PhD in physics. After starting his career as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, he went on to hold international leadership roles at T-Mobile, Vodafone, Telstra (Australia) and E.ON. 

As the CEO of Ceconomy AG and Managing Director of Media-Saturn-Holding, he led the digital transformation of one of Europe’s largest retail companies, expanding its online business and establishing innovative digital business models.
