Rachel Acheson

SVP, Chief Strategy Officer , lululemon
Rachel has spent the last 30 years developing and integrating strategic and creative visions. She started her career with Boston Consulting Group, where she spent 5 years helping the deliver more value to their shareholders and to their customers. She defined success through client satisfaction (most often measured by if they offered her a job!) When her clients in the music business offered her the chance to run the business side of the largest record label, she said yes. For five years, she was SVP of Planning at Interscope|Geffen|A&M. There she learned how to work with the team to keep their creativity thriving and hone the business performance—delivering market share and P&L results for 5 years. On the side, she and the Chairman of Interscope innovated the music business, including creating an advertising agency, a Sirius Satellite channel, a video game for 50 Cent, and much more. When family ties pulled her up to the Bay Area, Rachel insisted on staying in the creative space, and moved on to become VP of Brand Strategy (and later all Marketing) at Old Navy. There she re-centered the business strategically, positioned it for a turn-around, and delivered the marketing platform that drove a return to positive sales. After an intense 6 years, doing that Rachel decided to hunker down on the most important things in her life—family, friends, and yoga. That year planted the seeds for her next career move. She started at lululemon as VP of Community and Brand for Lululemon, responsible for growing brand awareness through the network of stores. Inspiring their individual creativity to create one, cohesive brand. She has spent14 rich years at lululemon and currently enjoys oversight of many dimensions of the future of the brand, in her role as Chief Strategy Officer. She holds a portfolio where she is responsible for bringing the future forward: Strategy, Insights, Innovation, and Transformation. She loves music, yoga, fresh air, and two amazing kids named Jackson and Elise.
