Tjeerd Jegen
Tjeerd Jegen is a highly experienced retail executive with over 25 years in global retail leadership roles. Born in the Netherlands, he studied Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Haas School of Business in Berkeley.
He began his career at Ahold Delhaize in the Netherlands and Central Europe before joining German Metro Group, where he was appointed to his first CEO role. He later worked for Tesco, holding senior roles in Thailand and Malaysia, followed by CEO of Supermarkets at Woolworths Australia, where he drove innovations in online retail, private label and the fresh food supply chain.
In 2015, Jegen moved into private equity and became CEO of variety value chain HEMA, focusing on international growth and sustainability. In 2022, he joined Takko Fashion as CEO, leading its expansion and digital transformation. He subsequently became CEO of Accell Group, the leading European bicycle manufacturer.
Since June 2025, Jegen has been Group CEO of B&M European Value Retail plc, where he is leading a strategic reset focused on strengthening the core proposition, driving operational efficiency and restoring sustainable growth.
Jegen is known for his strategic leadership, customer focused approach, commitment to sustainability and capital restructuring experience, making him a respected figure in international retail.
